Morning, Angels 👼🏽: Upgrading Your 5-9 Routine (August 22)

A Note From Our Founder

Morning, Angels! I'm sitting on my living room floor at my makeshift desk (shown above) wrapping up this week's installment of the newsletter. I like to finish editing it on Thursday morning right before it goes out so that it's fresh and as relevant as possible!

This week has been so fun and I had a "pinch me" career moment: hosting a wellness event for Stanley to celebrate the launch of one of their new collaborations. pro-tip, if you missed out on their Love Shack Fancy collab, they just launched THIS Quencher which gives very similar vibes

We've also had crisp mornings in NYC this week, which is such a welcome relief after a summer of heat advisories. The city is buzzing with energy in anticipation of the US Open and NYFW. I'll be attending events for both, so let me know if you have any questions / BTS content that you'd like me to share!

Lastly, wanted to mention two exciting housekeeping items re: Cacti Wellness:

1. We'll be restocking The Bands by September 1st - if you haven't purchased yet, you can turn on notifications HERE and you'll receive a discount code when we go live.

2. Our September community events are live and available to book (details below)!

Love you all, have a great Thursday🫶🏼

x Kira

Productive Wellness Unlock

The Power of The 5-9 Routine

Whether you’re a morning person or a night person, the hours of 5 AM - 9 AM and/or 5 PM - 9 PM, are extremely underrated. You may think all you have time for aside from work during the week is preparing for the next day, but today's modern corporate life has come a long way (especially if you’re working hybrid). To properly manage your time in and out of work, start by getting clear on what you want to accomplish (and enjoy!) outside of the office.

Ask yourself these questions:

1. What does my dream day look like?

2. What am I doing when I feel my best?

3. What would I be doing if I didn't have to think about money?

Time management isn't about working more or working less; it's about intentionally prioritizing. Click here for our sample 5-9 AM & PM routines to get you inspired🤎

New & Now in the Wellness World

Forget What You've Heard About Aging & Read This

New research shows that humans age, on a molecular level, in two accelerated bursts – first at the age of 44, and then again at 60. The journal, Nature, published a study that observed 108 participants' molecular aging changes. They found that rather than these changes being seen linearly, they instead have non-linear effects between the ages of 40-60. Studies like this give us insight into disease factors and help us understand the importance of healthy lifestyle choices during these pivotal years.

This study also reminded us of the importance of research when investing in products that claim to “reverse” the aging process. While "anti-aging" is a buzz word in the wellness world, just because there are products targeted toward anti-aging doesn’t mean they truly reverse this natural process. So, here's to embracing our natural human selves and the joy of experiencing life and growing older.

Reformer vs Mat Pilates: Which is right for you?

While both mat and reformer Pilates focus on building core strength, muscle tone, and flexibility, there are some key distinctions. Mat Pilates is performed on the floor using your body weight (or props like The Bands) as resistance, relying on controlled movements and proper form. This style is accessible and can be done anywhere, making it a convenient option for beginners or those short on time. We also provide unlimited access to mat-based, Pilates sculpt classes on the CW app for only $14.99/month, which is about half the cost of just one Reformer Pilates class.

In contrast, Reformer Pilates utilizes a specialized machine with springs, pulleys, and a sliding carriage. The Reformer provides additional support and challenges your muscles in new ways, allowing for the potential of a more advanced full-body workout. Reformer classes are ideal for those looking to take their Pilates practice to the next level by targeting hard-to-reach muscle groups with varying tension.

Whether you prefer the convenience and accessibility of the mat or the versatility of the reformer, both forms of Pilates offer an effective, low-impact way to improve posture, balance, strength, and overall health.

That's all for this week, angels!
