Morning, Angels 👼🏽: Feeling The Resistance (July 11)

A Note From Our Founder

Good morning, angels! Hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend, we missed you last week.

This is one of my favorite newsletters yet because we finally get to announce our first product launch.

Next Wednesday, 7/17, Cacti will be officially entering the lifestyle space and launching our Resistance Bands. I truly believe bands are the most underrated and essential piece of exercise equipment out there, and I'm so excited to bring a Cacti-coded, neutral version to all of you.

This has been a labor of love that our whole team has been working on for the last 6 months, and we're so excited to finally get the product into your hands! Look out for another email this week with more details on the launch, but in the meantime, mark your calendars for July 17th!

x Kira

PS, I've been LOVING to connect with you all each week in my inbox, so please keep the feedback coming! This community lights me up.

Productive Wellness Unlock
Maintain Your Wellness Routine On The Go:

Summer often means travel, and we know first hand how challenging it can be to keep up with your wellness routine on the go. Here are our top 3 tips for implementing those healthy habits in a realistic way when you're out of your usual routine.

1. Give Yourself Non-Negotiables:

Everyone has different lifestyle priorities, and we all know what our bodies and minds need. In order to create a stable routine that leaves you feeling your best, we suggest defining 2-3 daily "non-negotiables". Whether it be squeezing in just 10 minutes of movement or journaling a few affirmations each morning, these simple routine elements will feed into feeling your best.

2. Keep Your Fluids Up:

Not drinking enough water has a negative impact on your mood, sleep, digestive health, and energy levels which is why it’s important to maintain hydration levels (especially if you’re traveling by plane). Pro tip: adding in electrolytes is a yummy and easy way to keep up with hydration and make sure your body is actually absorbing the water. Our favorite, clean electrolyte brand: LMNT.

3. Give Yourself Wiggle Room:

Did you miss the morning run you promised yourself the night before? Life will go on. Those 30 more minutes of sleep were probably what your body needed and restorative time is important too. Rescheduling that run later in the day or making up for it later could be the way to go– you know yourself the best. Throughout your trip, focus on being intentional and understanding that you will need to modify your plans.

New & Now in the Wellness World:

The “Blue Mind Theory” We’ve Been Seeing All Over TikTok:

This trend has been all over our FYPs, so here’s the TLDR;

If you’re one of those people who feels their mood dramatically change when you're on the beach, this is essentially the Blue Mind Theory. And no this is not only “social media-backed” evidence! Scientists have found that exposure to blue and green spaces are linked to positive health. Studies also show that outdoor movement has more mental health benefits than indoor movement. So, if you’re looking for a calmer vibe this summer, grab your suit (and fitness mat) and head over to the pool, lake, or ocean to relax your mind.

The Truth Behind Cutting out Sugar:

It’s  universally understood that sugar in large quantities has negative effects on health, but what really happens when you cut sugar from your diet? Experts say that reducing sugar intake can result in better gut health, easier weight management, higher energy and mood levels, and healthier skin. That being said, there are healthy sugars found in foods like fruit and honey that deserve a spot in a healthy diet. Rather than cutting out sugar completely, we're recommend looking into places in your diets where you can make subtle changes and choose a health(ier) option. Little swaps can make a big difference over time!
