A Note From Our Founder
Good morning, angels! I have to start out by saying: thank you again for all of your support with The Bands launch - we're truly blown away by the support and so excited for you to all start receiving The Bands!!
This week has been another busy one (this time with a lot of head down computer work) and as the Olympics approach, I've been thinking a lot about the "athlete" mindset. It's pretty incredible to watch people perform at such a high level, and it's clear to me that there's a lot more than just physical strength involved. Olympic athletes are a true testament to the notion that when you combine passion, determination, and discipline, you can become unstoppable. Using this to power me through the week! Sharing more Olympian insights later in this email.
On another note, I stayed in NYC for basically all of July which was such a nice contrast to the weekly travel that I'd been doing all spring. That being said, I always get so much inspiration when on the go, so I'm excited to get back to it starting with a trip to see family this weekend :)

The overarching themes include being consistent in routines and using mental visualization to picture success (sound familiar!?). These athletes also lean into effective ways to supplement their training like good music, good people, and good recovery.
Is your SPF actually protecting your skin?
TLDR; SPF is definitely important to wear (year-round, but especially in the summer) to protect against skin cancer and to reduce premature signs of aging in skin. BUT, how you're applying it matters and SPF in makeup is almost never enough. Dermatologist Dr. Sam Bunting highlights five key SPF tips: choose a broad-spectrum SPF to protect against both UVA and UVB rays, pick the right type of sunscreen (chemical or physical) for your skin type, apply sunscreen generously using the "13 dot technique," don't rely solely on makeup for SPF protection, and always opt for SPF 50 for optimal protection.
